Why End The Year In Gratitude

We’re all so busy during the holiday season that many don’t have the time to stop and reflect on the beauties and lessons of the past year. To close out the year 2011 I’ve decided to do a workshop on End of the Year Gratitude.

Why End The Year in Gratitude?

Regardless of how difficult your year may have been, here are 5 reasons to end your year in gratitude.

Because challenges are beautiful!

Many think, “Thank God, that year is over! I hope the next year is better!” The challenges of our year should be counted as part of  “the beauties”. They grow us! They make us better! But it’s only with a heart filled with “Thank You” that we can start to see that. Say, thank you!

Because you become open to greater possibilities!

Gratitude allows us to see life from a different perspective. This new perspective opens us up to new ideas and possibilities. When you sit around with a mindset that says, “my life/year/marriage/finances suck!” where will the inspiriation comes from to help you change your sucky life?

It won’t!  You become stuck in the sucky. Say thank you!

Because the little things count too!

It’s easy to feel for grateful for the big things like: the car, the house, the family, the job. But how often we forget about the simpler things: having clean fresh water at the tip of the faucet, a good night’s sleep or an immune system that’s fighting for your survival without your participation. These are things that we don’t think about until they are NOT working properly. If you have these things say thank you!

Because God said it!

Every philosophical thinker, major religion and even the Savior of mankind taught us to be thankful. Before Jesus raisea Lazarus from the dead he prayed, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me.” (john 11:41)  Jesus THANKED GOD! And he did it before he received answer to his prayer! What a lesson for us all!

Because it’s the most powerful affirmation!

I am a big advocate of affirmations. I’ve even created a series of Affirmations for Christians. They are life & mind changing!  Having a  grateful heart is a powerful life changing affirmation as well! Let me demonstrate:

  • I am grateful for you.
  • I am thankful for the opportunity to live my dream.
  • I am grateful that I have the opportunity to raise my children from home.
  • I am thankful for the chance to teach other moms how to do the same.
  • I am thankful for a husband who goes to work everyday.
  • I am thankful for the technology that makes running a business from home possible.
  • I am grateful for all of you who come to my blog, Youtube channel and Facebook page to be inspired.
  • I am soooo thankful to have a connection with the God of the Universe!

If you are in town join us for the End of The Year Gratitude workshop. In the meantime, reflect on the last year pause and leave a comment, what are you grateful for?
