What is the Best Thing About Working From Home

Mompreneur’s #1 reason for working from home is usually   their children. That is my reason too. Here is my baby girl taking a nap in my home office. I lite a candle, gave her a cozy blanket and she made herself comfortable on the mat in front of the treadmill.

What an incredible sense of gratitude I felt as I sat in my office preparing to speak to a group of homeless moms while the gentle, breathing sounds of my sleeping daughter played   in the background.  The best thing about being home for me is creating a safe, loving, educational environment for my children where they feel peaceful and playful ALL the time.

Because a big part of my work is teaching entrepreneurship to kids, I very much like to show my kids how I work. They see me on the phone, on the computer, putting together posters for a presentation, leaving for a networking meeting. I also have the opportunity to ask them for help, giving them a sense of contribution to the family fiances. My dyslexic daughter entered 20 names into my contact database last week, and only made one error. Wish she was that accurate when she does homework!

I just love this picture of your daughter. One of my favorite parts of building an entrepreneurial life that lets me fit my career passions with my precious family is being able to be home with them when they are sick or hurt. I love that my company can also provide that kind of freedom to other parents while helping them get satisfaction that they are making a real impact in their community.

Thanks for helping me reflect on this wonderful benefit and assign it the value it is due!

I don’t have a single reason for working from home. I prefer it for the flexibility, my own comfort, the homey atmosphere (teehee), as well as being there for my kids.
