In my travels and conversations with mompreneurs I’ve noticed that we all have periods where we’re not very enthusiastic about our home-based businesses. There are times that we find ourselves bored or overwhelmed. One thing that I like to do is post a quote that inspires and motivates me. Here are some quotes that have encouraged me through some down times with a bit of business advice from me.
“Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.” –Ralph Waldo Emerson
When a mom is given the opportunity to start a home business I always advise her to choose passion over money. With crying children, messy diapers, and 8-12 hour work days a mompreneur needs something to be excited about.
“I not only use all the brains I have, but all I can borrow.” –Woodrow Wilson
You exceptionally competent superwoman you! Don’t forget to delegate, barter, outsource and/or ask for help.
“If you hype something and it succeeds, you’re a genius; it wasn’t a hype. If you hype something and it fails, then it’s just a hype.”–Neil Bogart
Mompreneurs, offer minimum and give extra.
“He is rich who owes nothing.” –Hungarian proverb
Forget about what “they” say, there is no such thing as good debt and bad debt. That’s like good poison and bad poison. In the end both kills you.
“The trouble with the rat race is that even if you win, you’re still a rat.” –Lily Tomlin
As a mompreneur you must determine what success means for you. If you allow the world to determine it for you you will be forever chasing it.
“When the horse dies, get off.” –Kinky Friedman
This doesn’t mean give up. It simply means react quickly to the fluctuating markets, changes in your industry, and your changes in your customer needs.
These quotes have been an inspiration for me. Do you have one that keeps you inspired?
