Woman of Power, Mother of The Mundane

When I’m out speaking, wheather at a small church or an organization, I feel so incredibly me! The powerful woman that I KNOW I am; free-spirited, funny, Biblically-sound, The Builder of Spirits, The Encourger of Souls, The Spiritiual Business Guru with all semi knowledge.
When I’m at my 2nd office, Whole Foods (2-3 days a week, enjoying the delicious meals prepared by my hired staff. Thank goodness someone else is paying them!), I feel so incredibly me! The powerful woman that I KNOW I am; productive, organized, focused, The Disciplined One, The World Wide Web Warrior, The Blogging Business Mom dispensing free knowledge to all moms who are searching the net.
When I’m interviewing women on my BlogTalk Show, I feel so incredibly me! The powerful woman that I KNOW I am; inquisitive, thought provoking, challenging, The One who causes others to open up and reveal personal secrets,The Source of Inspiration for enterepreneur moms, The Seeker of Truth from real women to encourage real women.
But after giving a tremendous, all wise speech, or a grueling 3hr day at the office (gotta hurry back to relieve The Husband), or after a revealing, Barbara Waters type interview (that I conducted while hiding out in my garage to limit the kid noise), I’m back home with 5 children, where I am the Mother of the Mundane.
Ironically, here too, I feel so incredibly me. The powerful woman that I KNOW I am. I am the all wise, all knowing, Dispenser of Truth and Knowledge here too! I issue decrees from the bathroom and they scurry to bid my doing (“Get away from this door!”).
With just a few phrases on my lips I’m able to hold together the home universe. “stop”, “leave that alone”, “why did you do that?”, “please don’t do that”, “STOP IT please”, “no”, “I’m not going to say it again”, “I said Stop it”. Some days, those phrases are all that I lovingly shriek for the entire day.
With just a few dollars a month we’re able to escape abject poverty and enjoy the basic luxuries of this great American life-like bottled water and fattening junk foods.
My all-seeing eye monitors computer screens, text messages, email accounts, Facebook pages and a toilet-paper eating toddler!
My supersonic ears allows me to enter the room before the bickering escalates, catch the mid-night cookie thief, and detect the late night phone whispers of the teen…which isn’t that difficult to hear because he’s a bass-baritone.
My encouraging words help to keep everyone inspired to perform the dreaded chores. “You can do it.” You better do it.” “Get it done now. ” “Just do it and stop the backtalk.”
And my supermom, super muscles keep the bathrooms sparkling! Mold on the tiles, toothpaste splatters on the mirror and urine smells around the toilet are all kept at bay with my non-toxic, green cleaners and powerful scrubbing arms.
Yes, we are Mothers of the Mundane. But moms don’t forget that you have just as much influence on our society by being powerful in your home as you do in the business world. Your clients and customers need you to make their lives better and so do your children. You take care of both by walking in your power.
This is the reason that I coach work at home moms. The business world is more glamorous, more appreciative and more lucrative than raising children. However, raising children is more important! I help you to be successful in business so that you can enjoy the beautiful task and all challenging role of Mother…of the Mundane.
