Making Money With AdWords?

Recently, I’ve considered making money with Google Adwords. But from what I understand there’s a lot of analyzing, copywriting, tracking and losing money. Keeping track of my clients, blog, speaking engagements, children, husband, household and other stuff (whew!) has me rethinking the Adwords consideration.

However, I just read My Online Business Journey Blog about how to make money with Adwords and it had me reconsidering my reconsideration.  Adriana seems a little different from all the other “make a gazillion dollars online” marketers. I’ll check her out for a while and then decide how I should pursue Adwords.

Have you tried making money with Adwords?

I’ve used Adwords to bring traffic to a new site. I would say the learning curve is steep–not to implement it, but to get it right. Some of the tips I’ve learned from experts (and they don’t always agree) are: 1) Make many small ad groups so your ads and keywords are a complete match, 2) Understand the complexity of your Quality score, 3) Make sure you input an end date to the campaign and a budget limit, and 4) Read Perry Marshall’s info on Google or Howie Jacobson’s Dummy’s Guide.

Yeah…all of that sounds complicated and analytical…I’ll have to wait until my baby is at least 5 before I start with Adwords.

Start simply, with a single word and a single ad.

Most important, get to know your market and your competitors (both are wholly “exposed” on the Google Search Results Page when you enter the keyword).

    Good luck!

That’s great advice Howie, I know so many pepople who start with 2 or 3 and lose track and money quickly.

Can I just say what a relief to find someone who actually knows what theyre talking about on the internet. You definitely know how to bring an issue to light and make it important. More people need to read this and understand this side of the story. I cant believe youre not more popular because you definitely have the gift.
