Do You Hate Your Job?

I hate my job

Do you hate your job?   There are so many moms who go to work everyday and absolutely hate it.  Are you one of them?  You hate the traffic, you hate the co-workers,  you hate the “mandatory overtime”, and you hate the politics. And where as you were able to tolerate it before the baby, you find that you have less tolerance now that you have a baby.

You keep telling yourself to get over it, everyone else is doing it, everyone else put their baby in daycare, you should be happy to have a job, you’re a lucky one.

You have insurance but you don’t have time to go to the doctor. You’re paid every week, but still don’t have enough money. You try to convince yourself that the children are going to be okay even though you’re clearly looking at some warning signs. You have so much creativity but it’s slowly slipping away from you because you’re stressed to the max.

It’s not you. Research has shown that working a job and managing kids is particularly stressful for women. According to the President of Families and Work Institute:

  • 67% of employees say they don’t have enough time with their children
  • 55% of employees say they don’t have enough time for themselves
  • 45% of employees feel pulled and stretched thin between their responsibilities at home and at work
  • and 37% of employees say it’s difficult to take time off when personal issues arise

I understand your plight and want to encourage you that working from home is not a dream but very much a reality.  Over 12.4 million American employees work from home at least one day a month.  45.1 million Americans work from home everyday. You can do it too.
